Community Services

We now have Yoga classes in the Institute on Thursdays at 3.30pm; those interested should contact Jeronime Palmer on 75980.

The Toddlers group continues to meet at the Institute on Wednesdays at 1.00pm;

Anyone wishing to organise badminton etc please contact the institute committee.

We have had no offers of help from any parents. Wihout a long term commitment to look after it we think it would become an uncared for white elephant, and not worth the work involved in moving the car park etc.

Environment

To add to the recycling bins for glass sited in the Scafell Hotel car park, we are in contact with Allerdale Borough Council to have a bin for paper.

The Parish Council is still pursuing various footpath improvements with landowners and has had meetings with Cumbria County Council to try and have the verges and roadside paths in the valley properly maintained.

Borrowdale Red Squirrel Group, This is a success, with regular sightings of reds and the greys' numbers being kept low and under control. Thank you to the National Trust and National Park for their continuing support. More volunteers welcome to monitor traps etc, please contact John Bennett on 77645.
